How to Play Horse Poker
Hold em is one of the most popular games in poker. in this game, you deal with two cards and you can use one or both of them along with three or four of the five community cards in an effort to make your best poker hand. These five communal cards are dealt face up on the table. in this kind of game, you are only allowed to bet according to a structured limit. Hence, only bets that are agreed upon at the start are allowed to make a difference.
Game number two is Omaha Hi/Low Split. in this game, the pot is split at the end of the betting hand between the highest hand and the lowest hand. in order to qualify for a low hand, the players must use at least three cards from the communal cards and two cards from the pocket cards to make a hand of five poker cards of eight or under. Straights and flushes are ok and the Ace counts as a low card. in this case, the best possible low will be A2345. the game is played with a flop, turn and river just like in Hold Em, with the exception of the fact that each player is given 4 cards of their own instead of just 2.
The third game is Razz. This is a stud game and is dealt by giving each player two cards face down and one card face up. After this, the cards are dealt one at a time, face up, until the last card is dealt face down. This is a straight low game. the winning hand will be the lowest five cards. Straights and flushes do not count against you and Aces are low, so the lowest possibility is A2345. Ties are split and suits have no rankings. The best low hand will win even if that hand is King High.
The fourth game is Stud Hi. Seven card stud is dealt like a typical stud game and like Razz above. The pot is won by the best five card high poker hand. Betting is settled according to the limit.
The last game is called Stud Hi/Lo. The pot is split between the Hi hand and the Lo hand. The lo must consist of five cards no higher than 8, so the best hand is A2345. The game is dealt exactly the same way as Stud hi and the betting limits are the same.
